VU 4 – June 11-13, 2020 (UPDATE- POSTPONED in the PANDEMIC until SUMMER 2021- check back! and take care!!)
The fourth VU Symposium for experimental, electronic and improvised music will be held over three days in June 2020 at the Park City Library in Park City, Utah.
The call for music, papers and presentations usually goes out after the beginning of the year. This event is hosted in collaboration with Listen/Space, a 501(c)3 arts non-profit, The Florence J Gillmor School of Music at Westminster College, the Park City Library, and the Red Desert Ensemble founded by Katie Porter and Devin Maxwell, artists-in-residence at Westminster College for the 2019-20 school year.
Music Technology Pedagogy Summit – March 7, 2020
We are excited to announce our Inaugural Music Technology Pedagogy Summit at Westminster College. This event is hosted by Devin Maxwell, Director of Composition and Music Technology at Westminster College and part of the Red Desert Ensemble Artist Residency at Westminster College.
We are excited to have Dr. Linda Antas, Associate Professor at Montana State University confirmed as our keynote speaker. Other presenters include Dr. David Michael Cottle, Associate Professor at the University of Utah, Serafin Sanchez from Ableton Live, Dr. Lauren Hayes (Arizona State University), Dr. Tom Baker (Cornish College of the Arts), Patrick Horton (PhD Candidate, Northwestern University), Dr. Brad Decker (Eastern Illinois University), Ashkan F.
